Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star – a variation

Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are,
Up above the world so high,
Like a diamond in the sky.

I first saw you as a child
Growing up a little wild.
Resting in your arms, I cried,
And you were my spirit guide.

There so peaceful, little star,
Far away is where you are.
Let me feel your presence nigh,
Shine my way and then go by.

Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
Take me to your trails afar,
Light my path up in the sky,
Now it is my time to fly.

    This is so pretty. Soft and sweet, imbibed with innocence. The sentiment of longing is eloquently displayed in such a subtle way. I love the dreamy nuances and far away feel. It makes me think of a boy who very much needs the safety and security found in a nourishing and nurturing love, in the moment just before he discovers that the world is alas human, hence imperfect by nature. Probably the only things we can count on to be here, are the sun and moon. Not even the stars shine forever. In due time, they fall as easily and clumsily as do we humans. (especially when we are in love or anything like it). This piece is especially well done and gorgeous in its simplicity.
